Whither Evergreen?
font: small med large

The insightful column by Robert Kaufman (“The tragic indoctrination of Rachel Corrie,” June 25) should concern us all.
It is disconcerting to know that Evergreen State College in Olympia, a state-funded institution, has turned into a private playground by radical anti-Israel faculty. Jewish students should not be allowed to be intimidated by this type of faculty.
Why do the leaders at the campus Hillel not stand up for Israel? I fail to understand their timidity in not wanting pro-Israel programming brought to the campus. The pro-Israel voice should not be silenced at Evergreen.
Hopefully, something can be done to get this college to hire faculty who encourage free debate by students without promoting an anti-Israel bias that poisons education there.
