Where’s the compassion?
font: small med large

I was dismayed by the lack of compassionate understanding for the Palestinian point of view regarding East Jerusalem in the JTNews article by Nevet Basker (“Myths and misperceptions,” April 9). Perhaps someday soon the pro-Israel viewpoint will also respect the validity of our neighbors’ perspective and gracefully dispense with the notion that there is an “objective truth” regarding the rights and needs of people in the Middle East. It is in fact entirely possible to be pro-Israel and pro-peace. V’im lo achshav, eymatai?
