Rabbi Hanoch Teller, the globetrotting “Modern-day Maggid,” is coming to Seattle. Rabbi Teller will be a visiting scholar-in-residence at Mercer Island’s Congregation Shevet Achim between Jan. 26–28, 2001. On Jan. 27, Congregation Shevet Achim and the Seattle Kollel are hosting a public lecture by Rabbi Teller. The lecture, entitled “We’re Too Small a People to Be a Small People,” will be held at 8 p.m. at the Northwest Yeshiva High School, 5017 90th Ave., SE, Mercer Island. Donations of $5 are requested.
The Jewish Observer calls Rabbi Hanoch Teller the “king of the storytellers [whose] well of inspiration is still overflowing.” Senator Joseph Lieberman describes the impact of the Modern-day Maggid this way: “If you ever questioned your faith, Hanoch Teller will bring you to understand the privilege it is to have it.”
Rabbi Teller has addressed audiences in 19 countries on five continents. A prolific writer, he is the author of 20 books, including the “Soul Stories” series. Rabbi Teller is also a highly respected instructor in numerous seminaries for women in Jerusalem and the producer of the newly released video “Do You Believe in Miracles?” Rabbi Teller’s talks present a thought-provoking contemporary view of issues relevant to every concerned Jew, featuring heart-warming personal observations on the human condition and Jewish life.
