Seattle Hebrew Academy invites the public to see what the school is all about during a regular day of classes on “Be Our Guest Day,” Feb. 8. The program, “Be Our Guest Day,” was first implemented last year when Rabbi Shmuel Kay came on board as the new headmaster of SHA.
“I remember when I was a kid in public school,” he said. “There was one day a year when the parent body, grandparents and anyone else who was interested in the school would come and sit in on our classes. It was always a great experience, and a lot of fun.”
The program will take place on Tu B’Shevat, a festive mini-holiday. Parents and guests can sit in on some of their children’s morning classes, break for lunch prepared by parent volunteers and then visit a few of their children’s afternoon classes.
It is an opportunity to poke around SHA’s historic building and see the new improvements, the classrooms, the computer lab and the gym. It is also an opportunity to see the teachers actually teaching and meet the new Middle School Coordinator, Ace Bulger.
“Be Our Guest Day” is open to the entire community. Everyone is welcome. If you are interested in coming, call the school at 206-323-5750 to reserve a lunch.
