Council House provides active retirement living for seniors 62 years and older in a comfortable, convenient location. Council House was completed in 1972 and is sponsored by the National Council of Jewish Women. Council House encourages physical self-reliance, fellowship, community involvement, and intellectual and spiritual growth.
There are a variety of programs offered, such as aerobic exercise Tai Chi, dance classes, yoga, prominent speakers, shopping van and overnight and day trips. Council House also hosts luncheons, coffee hours and holiday parties.
Council House is conveniently located one block south of Trader Joe’s near Temple De Hirsch Sinai and houses the Capitol Hill Minyan of Bikur Cholim–Machzikay Hadath. Group Health, Providence and Swedish hospitals are nearby.
