Based in Tzfat, Livnot U’Lehibanot has offered a variety of different Israel-experience and community-service programs for 30 years. Livnot’s unique programs are designed for English-speaking Jewish young adults with little to no Jewish background. Livnot offers spectacular hiking, dynamic seminars, volunteer service, living together as a community, and traditional Shabbat in mystical Tzfat.
Through a combination of seminars, community service and hiking in Israel, participants “build Israel while building themselves.”
Seminars explore a wide range of Jewish issues in a discussion-based, open learning environment. Topics include: Jewish ethics, spirituality, Judaism and the environment, Jewish identity, nature and Judaism, radical amazement, current events, intimate relationships, spirituality and Jewish history.
Work projects include painting apartments for the elderly and disadvantaged, construction of playgrounds and parks, school renovations, environmental activism, working in the educational system with kindergartens and tutoring projects, and painting public murals. Livnot currently offers several opportunities with a wide range of options: Four-week Galilee Experience, one-week Northern Exposure programs and opportunities for individual volunteers. Online registration and complete information is available at the Livnot website.
