ARMDI/American Friends of Magen David Adom, a not-for-profit tax-exempt organization, is the exclusive authorized fundraising organization in the United States for Magen David Adom, Israel’s equivalent to a Red Cross Society. For more than 64 years, ARMDI has and continues to support and upgrade the MDA emergency medical, ambulance, blood and disaster services it provides to all people throughout Israel.
ARMDI’s mission is to:
• To provide supplies and equipment for the MDA Blood Bank and MDA Fractionation Institute, which comprise the MDA National Blood Services Center in Ramat Gan, Israel and the 98 emergency medical centers located throughout Israel.
• To provide scholarships and education funds to train MDA paramedics, laboratory technicians and scientists.
• Supply and equip MDA with ambulances, bloodmobiles and cardiac rescue ambulances serving all hospitals and communities throughout Israel.
The MDA Blood Center supplies 100 percent of the blood needs of the Israel Defense Forces and 95 percent of the blood requirements of all the hospitals throughout Israel.
