American Friends of The Hebrew University is a national, not-for-profit organization with a network of regional offices throughout the United States that provide programs, events, and activities in support of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Forging a meaningful partnership between American Jewry and the people of Israel, AFHU helps to ensure the well-being of Israel’s greatest asset: the intellectual strength of its people.
AFHU is committed to supporting The Hebrew University of Jerusalem as it continues to fulfill its mission to educate the best and brightest from Israel and around the world by applying the highest standards of research and academic excellence. One major function of AFHU is to engage U.S. students to attend The Hebrew University through The Rothberg International School, which attracts students from around the globe. In addition, AFHU coordinates missions to Israel, and forums for visiting HU scholars and researchers. HU is proud to have an active faculty and student exchange agreement with the University of Washington.
AFHU has a vibrant Pacific Northwest Regional Office headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area that services Washington, Oregon, Northern California, and Hawaii.
