Delight your child and his/her imagination with an array of Jewish books, CDs, DVDs, magazines and scheduled story times on Sunday and Tuesday afternoons between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Children can browse and borrow from a wide assortment of Jewish children’s literature. Smaller children can play with new wooden toys while their siblings and parents browse.
Conveniently located in the Seattle Kollel, parents can attend adult programs and classes or just enjoy a cup of coffee and relax in the adjacent coffee lounge.
There is no charge to use the library or to check out books, and there are no special membership requirements.
Funding for the library came from the Bresler/Fuchs family, in memory of their late grandfather Berel Fuchs. Mr. Fuchs, a Holocaust survivor, drove 26 miles each day from a small farm in Dorothy, N.J., so his kids could have a Jewish education. He loved telling Jewish stories to his children and grandchildren and instilled in them much Jewish pride. According to his family members, this library is a testament to all that he held dear.
